Research Highlight

The tropical Indian Ocean decadal sea level response to the Pacific Decadal Oscillation forcing

The study establishes the relationship between the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) phases and the decadal sea level variability over the thermocline ridge region of the Indian Ocean (TRIO). Analysis reveals that the decadal variability in the sea level pattern in the TRIO in accordance with the PDO phase shifts is primarily caused by the changes in the surface wind forcing over the Indian Ocean as a response to PDO.
