Research Highlight


Projected changes in rainfall and temperature over homogeneous regions of India

The projections indicate the increase in the summer monsoon (June through September) rainfall over all the homogeneous regions (15 to 19%) except peninsular India (around 5%). The analysis over five homogeneous regions indicates that the mean maximum surface air temperatures for the pre-monsoon season (March–April–May) as well as the mean minimum surface air temperature for winter season (January–February) may be warmer by around 4 °C towards the end of the twenty-first century
