India Radar Meteorology Conference iRAD2019 at IITM

The third conference on India Radar Meteorology (iRAD2019), an initiative of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Govt. of India was  held at Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune during 9-12 January 2019. The conference was jointly organized by IITM and IMD to promote radar meteorology in India and to provide a platform for an interaction between academia, research institutes and industry.   The conference was inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Guest, Dr. M. Rajeevan, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Guest of honour, Dr. K. J. Ramesh, Director General of Meteorology, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Prof. Ravi S. Nanjundiah, Director, IITM, Prof. V. Chandrasekar, Colorado State University, USA,  Convener, iRAD2019, Dr G. Pandithurai, IITM and  Co-Convener, iRAD2019, Dr D. Pradhan, IMD  on 10th January 2019 at IITM, Pune. Around 100 delegates across the nation gathered to share their research in various disciplines of radar meteorology in conference. To train young researchers and students in the field of Radar Meteorology, the conference also organized one-day short-term course on “Weather radars for Microphysics of clouds and precipitation”.
