JSC-WCRP and SC-IGBP sessions are held by the respective secretariat every year. Having had a long association with IGBP (SSC-Pages) and currently a member of JSC-WCRP I feel honoured to be the local host of this joint meeting in India. I welcome all the distinguish members of JSC-WCRP and SC-IGBP on behalf of Local Organizing committee. I hope the meeting will be  scientifically and socially enjoyable and rewarding experience at Pune.
