IITM signed MoU with NMU, Jalgaon for scientific collaboration

 
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), between Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, India and North Maharashtra University (NMU),  Umavi Nagar, Jalgaon, India was signed by the Director, IITM, Prof. Ravi S. Nanjundiah on 29 May, 2018. On behalf of NMU,  Prof. S. N. Patil,  Head of  Department of Applied Geology,  School of Environmental and Earth Sciences, NMU, Jalgaon was present at IITM. Senior scientists of Academic Cell of  IITM, Dr. P. Mukhopadhyay, Dr. Vinu Valsala, Dr. Milind Mujumdar and Senior Manager Shri  Ajit Prasad were present on this occasion. 
 
At the outset Prof. Ravi S. Nanjundiah, Director, IITM extended his warm welcome to the Vice Chancellor, NMU  Prof. P.P. Patil and Prof. S. Ingle,  Director School of Earth and Environment Sciences, NMU to visit IITM for detailed discussions on strengthening the scientific collaboration.  He stressed on encouraging scientists, faculties and students from both the organizations to explore all the means for strengthening the scientific interactions through collaborative research work, organization of training/workshop programs, short and long term internships.
 
 
The initiatives by IITM for introducing the Atmospheric and Oceanic Science in the curriculum at Post-graduate level courses at NMU will be proven to be crucial for the development of the skilled manpower in time ahead.
