Dr. Harsh Vardhan inaugurated New SAFAR monitoring station at Delhi
Union Minister of Science& Technology, Earth Sciences; Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr Harsh Vardhan unveiled a state-of-the-art Air Quality and Weather Forecast System– SAFAR (System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting) at Chandni Chowk in Delhi on 21st July 2018. This new system will track UV-Index, PM1, Mercury and Black carbon in real time. The system, first of its kind in the country, was developed indigenously in record time by Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune and operationalized by India Meteorological Department (IMD).
