Inauguration of X Band radar at HACPL Mahabaleshwar
The inauguration ceremony of the X-band Doppler Radar was held on 24 April 2026 at HACPL. The radar was formally inaugurated by Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), in the presence of Dr. A. Suryachandra Rao, Director, IITM, and Shri Somya Sarkar, Director, Space Applications Centre (SAC). Scientists from IITM and members of the HACPL team were also present on the occasion, marking a significant milestone in advancing weather monitoring capabilities.
