Dr. A. K. Sahai (Scientist G & Project Director, Monsoon Mission at Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune) assumed an additional charge of full functional Head of the Office of Climate Research and Services, India Meteorological Department, Pune on 1st January 2017. The Office of Climate Research and Services, IMD has been created by merging Additional Director General of Meteorology (Research) office, Dy Director General of Meteorology (Weather Forecasting) including training division, Dy Director General of Meteorology (Agriculture meteorology), Dy Director General of Meteorology (Climatology) and Dy Director General of Meteorology (Surface Instrumentation). The office of Climate Research and Services, IMD will function to roll out Climate Services for the country under the aegis of the Global Framework for Climate Services framework of the World Meteorological Organisation.
